If the landlord wants to renovate inside the property while you live there, they should discuss this with you first. The landlord also can’t just give notice to enter the house for renovations as they would for an inspection. You have a right to the ‘quiet enjoyment’ of your home and renovations are likely to affect this – so you could ask the landlord to reduce the rent during the time that the renovations are being done.
