If you notice dampness or mould inside, tell the landlord quickly. They are responsible for maintaining the structure of the house and keeping water and dampness out.
You could ask them to check that gutters are clear, downpipes and drainage are working, the ground under the house is dry, and there are no leaks or gaps in the roof, walls or windows.
If the damp is caused by external or structural problems like these, the landlord is responsible for their repair. You could ask for a discount on your rent with the landlord while the repairs are being done.
