Usually a tenancy agreement will say the maximum number of people you can have living in the house. If you have more than this number, this is a breach of your tenancy agreement and the landlord could send you a 14-day notice to remedy the breach.
If the tenancy agreement doesn’t say how many people you can have in living at the property, you (or your landlord, if you are in a boarding house) still have to comply with laws that prevent overcrowding and unhealthy living conditions.
